Blue Team Wireless Defenses
To secure your Wi-Fi network, defenders must implement the strongest available protocols and enforce strict physical security.
- Use WPA3 (If Possible): Always use WPA3, which introduces safeguards against handshake capture and protects open (unsecured) Wi-Fi networks.
- Strong Passphrase: Use a password/passphrase that is long and complex (20+ characters) to make dictionary attacks impractical.
- Disable WPS: Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) is highly vulnerable to brute-forcing and should be disabled.
- Keep Firmware Updated: Ensure your router/access point runs the latest firmware to patch known vulnerabilities.
- Physical Security: Place the AP away from outside walls or windows to limit signal leakage and physical access to the device.
