Superposition: Being in Two States

Quantum Computing Basics for Developers

Superposition

Superposition is NOT 'being in two states at once' in a magical sense. It is a linear combination of states.

Mathematically: $|ψ⟩ = 1/√2 |0⟩ + 1/√2 |1⟩$.

When we measure this specific state, we have a 50% chance of getting 0 and a 50% chance of getting 1.
